      1. If I am using charcoal, how can I tell when the coals are ready?
        When the coals turn a uniform gray color they are ready to be used for cooking.
      2. What vegetable are best for grilling?
        Semi-soft vegetables like red peppers, zucchini, and asparagus are great for grilling because their consistency will not be ruined,  yet it won’t take forever to cook.
      3. What is the fastest way to get coals ready for cooking?
        It has been said that liquid oxygen can make coals ready in about 3 seconds, but this method is not recommended as it has a tendency to incinerate some cheaper models of grills.
      4. Is grilling with an electronic grill any faster or healthier than using coals?
        An electronic grill will generally be faster than coal and provide more uniform heating.  Some taste will however be lost.  There are no obvious health benefits to electronic versus charcoal grills.
      5. Grilling is for meat.  Why should I add vegetables? 
        Increasing evidence suggests that Americans should eat include more vegetables in their diets, and grilling is an interesting and easy way to prepare them.
      6.  Can I grill fruit?
        Yes, some fruits can be grilled successfully.  Things like peaches or nectarines make excellent grilling options, as well as compliment many main dishes.
      7.  Is there anything that simply can’t be grilled?
        Pasta comes to mind.
      8. My favorite thing to grill is hamburgers.  How can I make that more interesting?
        Add some onions and raw garlic in tin foil to the grill and cook at the same time, then use to top the burger.  Also, cabbage can be grilled and added to the top of the burger at the end.
      9. What do I do to prepare the vegetables?
        Simply clean the vegetables, then cut in large pieces as they are easier to grill that way.  Brush with olive oil before grilling.
      10. How do I use wood chips when grilling?
        Wood chips impart smoky, distinctive flavors to grilled foods. What you need to do is soak the chips in water for an hour so they don't burn, then put them over the coals. The types of chips you can use are mesquite, hickory, and sweet cherry wood or apple!
      11. Who are Cooks R Us?
        Cooks R Us started as a group of women who got together for a graduate class and discovered sharing grilling recipes was a favorite pastime.  They started the site to let others in on the secrets.
      12. Why learn online?
        Learning online allows you to learn at your own pace, and to have access to the classes whenever you need them.  In other words, your schedule comes first! 

        Learning online also allows some of the wide experience from all over the nation right into your home, thus allowing a huge variety of perspectives and insights. 

        Finally, online learning is usually designed with adults in mind, and will thus have classes tailored with adults in mind.
      13. The PowerPoint presentation won’t open up.  What can I do?

        Also, if you cannot download all this because of slow internet we will mail a CD with the reader on it.
      14. I want to print one of the recipes.  How can I do that?
        This can be done by downloading the PowerPoint to your computer and changing the filename from filename.pps to filename.ppt. Then you can open it without having it full screen and print it from the menu.
